Indian Prime Minister Modi Arrives in Hangzhou for G20 Summit

Modi once said that he cherishes the friendship with Chinese leaders, and looks forward to exchanges of views on further development of India-China ties with Chinese leaders on occasions including the G20 Summit in Hangzhou and the BRICS Summit to be held in the Indian state of Goa in October.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou late on Saturday night to attend the G20 Summit.

On the sidelines of the G20 Summit, Modi will have bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and attend a BRICS leaders’ meeting, according to India’s Ministry of External Affairs.

Earlier, during a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in mid-August, Modi said that he cherishes the friendship with Chinese leaders, and looks forward to exchanges of views on further development of India-China ties with Chinese leaders on occasions including the G20 Summit in Hangzhou and the BRICS Summit to be held in the Indian state of Goa in October.

Themed “Toward an Innovative, Invigorated, Interconnected and Inclusive World Economy,” this year’s G20 Summit in Hangzhou will seek to revive the stagnant world economy through promoting innovation and reforming global economic governance.
