Thematic Forum “Sharing Experience on Asian Governance” Held in Beijing
The Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations (CDAC) kicked off in Beijing on May 15. On the afternoon of the same day, a sub-forum themed on “Sharing Experience on Asian Governance” was hosted by the State Council Information Office of the People’s Republic of China and organized by China International Publishing Group (CIPG). Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the opening ceremony of the sub-forum and delivered a keynote speech.
The keynote speech President Xi Jinping delivered at the opening ceremony of the CDAC offered Chinese wisdom for the joint building of a community with a shared future for Asia and humanity, and will inspire Asian countries to improve governance and achieve development and prosperity, Huang said.
During the subtopic discussion, 18 well-known Chinese and foreign experts and scholars discussed the topics of “Asian wisdom of political civilization”, “the Asian plan for the benefit of the people” and “the shared future of Asia”. In his concluding remarks, Du Zhanyuan, president of CIPG, pointed out that Asian countries should pursue the common value of benefiting the Asian people, pool wisdom, share ideas, form consensus for development and provide Asian solutions for the construction of a community with a shared future for humanity.
Also at the sub-forum, CIPG released the multilingual booklet Keywords to Understand China: On Governance, as well as two reports—the Report on Mutual Recognition of Asian Civilizations, and the Assessment Report of Asia’s Role in Global Governance.
Around 300 government officials, leaders of international organizations and academicians attended the sub-forum.
